Curious about whether anyone has used Tribute.co for making/distributing videos. (This question can wait until a natural pace of this convo.)
Bill Jones

Past videos for the Publico award are listed here https://www.americanbar.org/groups/probono_public_service/projects_awards/pro_bono_publico_award/past_recipients/ just click on the year

What's the typical length of these programs?
Tali Albukerk
23:09
Happy to connect with anyone about Free Legal Answers. Tali.albukerk@americanbar.org
Bill Jones
23:16
Our Publico videos run about 4-5 minutes each
Krista Scully
23:39
Has anyone done a Cameo video for an award recipient as a surprise from one of their favorite celebrity?
Samantha Howell
24:42
Jason Mamoa for me. And my birthday is next month (hint hint)
Nancy Lopez
25:28
You can "purchase" a cameo from some celebrities here: https://www.cameo.com/
Krista Scully
25:36
How about shared skill services among us? Like putting together videos, writing fun scripts, etc? This is a really talented group of folks.
Susan Daicoff, VLP Dir., Southern Az Legal Aid
25:46
I'm thinking of avoiding politicians this year, any ideas on how to include them in a good way?
Krista Scully
26:13
Yes, @nancy lopez--that's what I was referencing. Fortune Feimster is hilarious!
Bill Jones
28:34
For Celebrate Pro Bono you might ask the Governor or mayor to read their pro bono week proclamations
Jessica Schneider
28:48
To go back to the length question ours at PILI were mostly in the 5-12 minutes range with the one interviewing the ABA President being longer. I know not having awards presentations be too long is something we have thought of
Sylvia Novinsky
29:43
Can folks share their proclamations--looking for wording.
Center for Pro Bono
30:02
Sylvia, we have a bunch of those on the Celebration website-I will send the ones from past years to you.
Mary Arnstein
30:09
Typically, we have an MC (who introduces the presenters) and about 15 awards presented during our ceremony. We are worried about many transitions and the tech issues that could result (presenters beginning their comments with their mikes off). Any thoughts about making virtual events run more smoothly from a technical standpoint?
Sylvia Novinsky
30:11
Thank you!

Thanks Bill!
Daniela Alulema
30:56
@Mary - we are hiring an outside service to handle the transitions
Jessica Schneider
31:33
@Mary have you thought about pre-recording so you don't need to worry as much about that?
Jordan Bates-Rogers
32:01
We are planning an event and will be pre-recording to avoid tech issues.
armida
32:22
how about having a client give a statement on how the VLP attorney helped them and changed their life, anonymous of course due to confidentiality, maybe block their face.
Bill Jones
32:37
Mobile Cause has a number of videos/webinars on running an event smoothly https://www.mobilecause.com/
Jacob Drum
32:40
we have contacts w/ specific AV people that we use, but anyone who comes up as a cheap editor please let me know - I just got married via Zoom over the weekend and the officiant is sending us the raw video
Samantha Howell
34:05
I am a pretty good writer and brainstormer :)
jaymec
34:47
how would they decide what organization gets to send?
Jessie C.
35:38
I have asked clients to share their stories for award recipients, and they are generally very nervous. So I ended up doing it as an interview, which really helped the client put them at ease and share their story.
Judy L
37:19
Congrats, Jacob!
Jessica Schneider
38:25
Love the interview idea
Jacob Drum
40:40
I would be cautious given the nature of the attorney-client relationship. they may feel compelled and you don’t want to put them in that position.
Krista Scully
44:40
Could we have a skill share Google doc?
Laura
46:05
I ju contacted Bryan Stevenson, and he charges $35,000 minimum for a virtual keynote
